Lisa Denny
Lisa grew up in Palmerston North in New Zealand and received an honours degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. In 2017, she began her PhD at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Her PhD thesis explored the potential of kappa opioid receptor agonist nalfurafine, to better understand how the immune system supports neurological repair. Since completion in 2021, Lisa continued this work in Professor Anne La Flamme’s multiple sclerosis research group. She has recently moved into a career in medical writing at ICON plc, with a particular focus on driving the communication of work in cancer drug discovery.
