Marcin Wegrecki 49th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Immunology 2021

Marcin Wegrecki

Dr Marcin Węgrecki is currently a postdoctoral fellow in Jamie Rossjohn Lab at Monash BDI. Marcin received his PhD in Biotechnology from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain) in 2015. During his doctoral studies in Jerónimo Bravo’s Lab he specialised in protein biochemistry, crystallography and structural biology focusing on protein-protein interactions involved in ribosome biogenesis in Eukaryotes. During his first postdoc at the University of Copenhagen he worked with Dr Søren Rasmussen on biochemistry and pharmacology of GPCRs. Since joining the Rossjohn Lab in 2018, Marcin has been studying lipid antigen presentation by human CD1 proteins and the T cell receptors (TCRs) that recognise them. Marcin’s research interests also include the field of comparative immunology. His work on the architecture of a novel class of TCRs found in Marsupials has helped to confirm the existence of a third T cell lineage, the γμ T cells.
